[19] Toronto, Ontario
So, I was in Toronto this weekend with my brother, Andrew, before flying home (which as yet is still scheduled for tomorrow. I got in on Friday, after getting a ride in to town from Jess and Zeyd (who are also both in Classics at Queen's). We had a bit of a crazy drive in, stopping for sushi, and the liquor store (where we had a free sample of Rose Champagne), and finally to Humber College. Saturday Andrew and I decided to head out on the town, and make a picture-journal of the places we went.
1. Andrew in front of the Faculty of Social Work, the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) in the background) on Bloor street near the University of Toronto.
2. Laura in front of the Bata Shoe Museum (also on Bloor Street & St. George, near U of T). I just like it's colourful background.

3. Laura and Andrew in the colonnade of Knox College. A friend of mine (who had just flown back home the day before) lives here. It's very beautiful. Unfortunately, the sun was a point not allowing for light flowing through the beautiful 'windows'.
4. Laura in front of the Swarovski crystal Christmas Tree at the Eaton's centre. It's more green and less yellow in real life
5. CHUM building (aka: Much Music central!) and the CN tower looming in the background.
6. Laura at colonnade in Knox College again.

7. Andrew over looking Swarovski crystal Christmas Tree from the fourth level of the Eaton's Centre. We were going to Chapters.
8. Detour through China Town in Toronto after visiting Kensington Market made for some interesting pictures. I think that's kale in the background behind the oranges, but I'm not sure. I'm never sure at outdoor markets.
All in all, we really enjoyed our day. I'm sure Andrew got tired of me stopping to take pictures. I often wondered how Mom felt about that whilst in Scotland et al. I never get tired, and in fact, had the battery of our camera not run out (he assured me it was the more charged of the two), I probably would have taken more. Ah well, there's always Christmas at home, I'm sure people will be delighted to have me take pictures of that!
So, I'm looking forward to heading home for the holidays. This year especially, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's being so far away. I still have work to pursue over the break, such as my paper on Galba for my Tacitus Latin course, and a reading of Thucydides, Xenophon, and Herodotus in translation to prepare for my Greek Historiography course next term. Oh yes, and if the gods allow, reading Fagles' Aeneid, if I get it for Christmas.
Bring on the sugar cookies and snow to shovel. I'm coming home.
