[24] Kingston, Ontario

I'm starting to think about soundtracks again, probably because I am about to travel again.  In just 18 days and 4 hours I will be on my way to Europe again; flying into Paris before I head to Rome and then to Matera for an Archaeological Dig.  Yes, that's right, an Archaeological Dig.  As many of you may remember, I am no archaeologist, though Indiana Jones may be one of my role models and I am looking forward to the release of the new movie (tonight!!!!).

Below I've got a few gorgeous pictures of the first place I will be studying in Italy; the dig is a field school, so we've got some learning to do!

Matera:

So, enough about my trip for now and back to playlists.   If my life were a movie (and yes, I know I've done this one before...), this would be it's soundtrack.

  • opening credits: bubble pop electric - gwen stefani ft. johnny vulure (i can see this is going to be a strange post-modern type film).
  • waking up: also sprach zarathustra (from 2001, a space odyssey) (i'm not pretentious, am i?)
  • first day at high school: ziggy stardust - david bowie (maybe i'm transgendered)
  • falling in love: near wild heaven - r.e.m.
  • fight song: thoughts of a dying atheist (at least it has some rhythm)
  • breaking up: always look on the bright side of live (from life of brian) - monty python
  • prom: finer feelings - spoon
  • life: your ex-lover is dead - stars
  • mental breakdown: what can I do - the corrs (so it's going to be *that* sort of breakdown)
  • driving: under the bridge - rhcp
  • flashback - time after time (eva cassidy)
  • getting back together: melissa mcclelland
  • wedding: the lonesome death of hattie carroll - mason jennings (from the i'm not there ost) (should be an interesting wedding.  i didn't question the logic before, but must a movie about my life necessarily include a wedding scene?  wouldn't there be more interesting/important things to show?  but i guess if it includes scenes like 'falling in love' ', 'breaking up', 'prom' and 'getting back together', my life can't be too interesting or important anyway).
  • birth of child: daydream believer - some punk cover band
  • final battle: get over it - ok go (between me and my husband, or someone else?)
  • death scene: du hast - rammstein (okay, so i'm not going slowly or quietly to the grave)
  • funeral song: 4 am - our lady peace (but I am a cliché)
  • end credits: knockin' on heaven's door - antony and the johnsons (at least i've got taste!)
